Semi Newbie Tube and Worm Question

Hello everyone. I was born in Cape Elizabeth and moved to OR when I was 8. I'm finally getting a change to get back to that beautiful state on June 19th for a couple weeks, staying at Old Orchard Beach.

I've been reading the threads on this site religously for the last three months in preperation to do some surf fishing and the knowlege you put out here is amazing and I wanted to thank all of you for that.

I've done my share of surf fishing out here but it seems to be quite different then what I've been reading on here. I plan on doing chunking primarily but would love to get into some plugging and tube and worm fishing. Can I fish the tube and worm from the surf or is that primarily from boats?

The traditional tube & worm rig is a trolling rig, and not really castable.

Thanks for the welcome and the info. I guess I'll try my hand at plugging then. How is my timing going to be for the fishing. I'll be there next Friday for two weeks.
Also is it worth me fishing right at Old Orchard Beach or should I venture somewhere more suitable?

Timing should be OK. There are some local guys here who might hook up with you and show you around. There are better locations in the area to fish than OOB itself.
