I am in town and would like to try to fish Lake silverwood for some stripers. how is the shore fishing this time of year? I don't have a boat but I can probably rent one if there's one available near by. Are there any recommendations?
Thank you.
Water is high now so hard to find shore to fish from. If you get there early try points around the launch ramp or can pay and fish off of boat docks I think they charge 3 bucks but not sure. crawlers for dinks lots of them there now anchovies for bigger ones.
If you go in at the dam it is free and can go in early and fish off of the rocks not bad if the wind does not blow you out. Good luck out there...
This will be my first time fishing silverwood so it should be interesting. I will have the wife and kids with me so I hope they wont be bored. Do you guys use frozen anchovies?
Yes just cut head tail off leave the guts in them they seem to like it that way. If you got kids with you get some crawlers the dinks seem to like them and will give the kids a good chance at catching some.
They do rent boats there also are you going during week or weekend?
This was from 2 weeks ago might be there Friday just had knee surgery so have to wait and see how I feel.

Reason: photo and info.
I think all they have are aluminums 14ft. and I think pontoons.
They never have enough anchor rope on them so might want to bring some with you. Plus on the toon at least you will have some shade been Hot out here.

Yes we made it out there but with no luck. Some guys to our right and left caught some dinks. We were after the big ones, with big bait and such. It was nice to be out and see a new lake.
