Default New guy here-Where to go from MO?

A buddy and I are trying to plan a striper trip with a guide for one day. Looking at doing a 3 day trip from Kansas City. We hear about Beaver Lake in AR, but it sounds like there isn't much in the way of numbers. I've heard the fish are big, but they are few and far between.

We are also considering Texoma, where we'ver heard the numbers are there.

Anyone have any experience with the two and can you recommend any guides on either lake?

We've also talked about Norfork Lake in Arkansas, but heard it is worse than Beaver.

Welcome aboard Jon! Type in Texoma in the search tool and you'll get loads of stuff, including reports (one as recent as last week) from "southernokguide" an S247 member who guides there. He may just be the guy to hook up with

Good luck out there. Wish I could help you out more. I lived in Kansas City myself for about 6 years before moving to MA in 2004, but never really targeted stripers back then. Stick around... and don't be afraid to ask questions!

We try to go to Beaver several times a year. 0-4 fish a day is not unusual. The biggest on my wall is 32lbs. Anytrip with a fish over 30 is memorable.

Lots more fish at Texoma, but all smaller.

If you want a guide at Beaver, try Big Dog. He works hard for his clients. Donny Andresean (sp?) is another who is well thought of in the area, but I have never been out with him.

Do you have a boat? If we can get away in the nest couple of weeks, we might be able to hookup. JJH
