Default Remanufactured Lower Units

I am shopping for a remanufactured lower unit for a mid '80's 60hp Evinrude.

Has anyone had experience with U.S. Boatworks? (boatengine.com)

They gave me an immediate response to an Email query and have the best prices and lowest core exchanges I could find.

Other suggestion?

Default Re: Remanufactured Lower Units

Not much traffic on this board so I'll answer my own question in case anyone else is looking for info in the same area.

I ordered in a reman lower from US Boatworks in Kansas city Kansas. Came in in a week (ground shipping because I asked them to put in a can of paint, they come in primer). Units don't come with water pump so I had them install one ($90) before shipping.

Unit came in an looked very good. Really clean, looks like lots of care in the build. Haven't had it on the water (been fighting starter issues) yet but it shifts smoothly in the tank.

Core return values depend on the condition of the returned unit. Mine had a chip in the case skeg that I knew about and where the pinion bearing let go the case was damaged so no good for rebuild. They refunded me for core values on drive and prop shafts and called me to explain.

Overall very courteous group and I am satisfied with the core determination.
