Default FISHING TONIGHT....

I'm going fishing tonight at 8PM. I know judging by the tide charts it's going to be alittle after dead low. So I will be fishing the incoming tide. What are the hot spots in Newburyport and PI area?

PM me if you don't want everyone to know your spot :)
I share ALL information with everyone, so I hope you do the same for me.

I think I am going to be down there too, coming down with Hampton for a change. If anyone wants to help out or meet up, please let me know as well.

We need to catch BIG for the board, and represent N.E.!

I was thinking about fishing the North End ofcourse, walking down that dirt road and hitting the sand bars. We could meet in the parking lot. My older bro may come with, tryin to get him hooked on a big fish.

You mean fresh Herring for bait? Not sure about PI, I get mine in Hampton at Defiant Lobster. OR, you can fish for em in the "Hot Tub" up in Newmarket lol. There's thousands of em comin over that dam.

I'd say probably sometime between 7:30-8pm. I aiming to be there before 8 oclock, but when your bringin someone, you never know how long it will take them to get their act together lol :)

I am definitely going to get some clams. The herring is just not treating me well so far this year. I will also throw out some Danny's I guess, maybea pencil popper, some big grubs on jig heads, maybe some bucktails? As well as some Storms ofcourse.

I have not fished on PI for weeks, and believe it or not, have never actually fished the spot we're talking about. I have parked in that lot, and walked up the beach to check out the jetty etc., but it was way too windy that day for any fishing. You know your way around there right? I'd hate to get lost, or even fish the wrong spot lol

Yes I'm from the area :)

I will be down there around 8:30PM or so. Head down to the sandbars, and I will meet up with you then :)

Okie doke :) I usually have an orange Rapala hat on, and may be wearing my Gortex camo jacket if it gets chilly.

BTW, I usually suck pretty bad at fishing from the sand lol. I try to avoid it to be honest, so I'm hopin I'm ok with it. In the marsh, off a boat, or on a jetty, I'm a Warrior, but off the sand......oh man..... :)

How far do we have to get out to catch em there? And have you known anyone to catch any wood yet? I really wanna throw out some Danny's.

I didn't make it :(

My friend was driving, and we fished in NBPT, and never made it down to the island. I'm sorry dude.

We caught a total of four schoolies, and right when the tide switched all action stopped.

Dont worry man, it really sucked a koo koo koot. We got down there bout 9:30. Walked down and found a spot and worked clams. Nuttin. The tide was coming in, but there was a weird rip that was taking everyones line OUT. Everyone was baffled. One the walk in, there was talk of a 32" and a 36", but it was dead as you said when the tide turned. We were there till like 1am I think. Rubbish. And NO lie, on the walk back to the truck in the parking lot, a skunk was right at the light pole on the corner. STRIPED CAT. S K U N K E D squared.

We left and hit the Hampton Marsh. It was FLOOD TIDE, probably the moon, but it reminded me of the flood tide at the end of September last year, it was the last time we caught Stripers in the marsh, then it was shore time. But anyhow, the tide was H I G H, and there was absolutely no herring working the top. Deader than a fart. So I would have to say the night action here has calmed substantially within the last 10 days. I was out there 2 weeks ago at night, the fish were still flopping the top every 3 seconds. But that seems to have ended.

Looks like its time to get on the boat. Either that or work the dam in Newmarket a bit more while the Herring are still pooled in there.

What a skunk the night turned out to be. P O O P

I'm going to spend time locating where the fish are during the incoming tide. I have awesome luck on the outgoing tide. When the tide switches from outgoing to incoming it seems it's like a switch and the fish stop hitting.
