Default Some Info

Report from Riverbasin today (Thursday)

In the Albany area during the past 4 days or so, as the water temp there rose to around the 62 degree level, the striper activity definitely picked up. Still, those bigger fish just did not show up this year – most of the hookups were with sub-36 inchers. And, as incredible as it might sound, some 24 inch stripers were caught on 10 inch herring. This is also the probable reason for all those missed runs the anglers have had – just smaller stripers grabbing the bait, running like mad, and then not being able to fit the bait in their mouth. Such has been a curse not only in the Albany area but all throughout the tidewater Hudson

Brian, you definately have bigger fish then us down here in the Hudson Valley. You and red had some nice ones the other day. I've been saying all spring the fishing is sub par this year. Before we know it they will be gone....

Yeah it has been an off year ... but the big ones never really showed up here either. The riverbasin's biggest fish is only 43.5" ... in the past few years they regularly get 45"+ fish.
