Smile Early Fall Trolling

We went out Saturday morning (10/8/2011) for a few hours just to see if anything was bitting. We caught 2 small rock a 24" and a 22" . We also caught two small blues. We were trolling just off Ragged point using small bucktails and spoons. What a great day to be out. We will be out again this Sunday.

Fall is a great time on the bay. Last fall my son and I fished 3 days on Veteran's Day weekend and caught 41 school-sized rock in Tangier Sound. The big fish never made it that far up the bay before cold temps sent the fish to North Carolina.

Rick, same thing down here at the Yeocomico on the 8th. I must have caught a dozen small blues and 1 20inch Rock. It was an awsome day to be out. We stayed at the dock the following weekend, to windy for me.... Cant wait to get out this weekend.

Went out on Saturday morning for a few hours and picked up two rock, 25" and 23" . Not to much going on yet but hopefully this cooler weather will pick things up.

25 and 23 are great fish for this early. Planning a couple of days in mid - late November. Wish I was closer but it's a 5 hour tow with our boat to the Crisfield area.

I was out the 7th and I got 3 26" rockfish in about a 5 minute span on a surface popper. Only action in 4 hours that day. As well I was out the 9th and got one 23" on a shad plastic. New to rockfishing and even if it is slow, it is still a great time.
