9-10 would cause me to stay out of the water but I would still cast from shore....7-8 is no problemo....just gotta watch for rip currents....

Nothing ventured - nothing gained. With a Nor'easter, the surf should churn up nicely, smashing the bait up against the rocks, where hopefully the line sides wait.
Joe is right, no fish is worth risking your life for, but if you can find a somewhat sheltered spot where your not going to get washed off the rock, should be some good fishing to be had.

friday morning is when you should be out. from 4am till you cannot bear the wind and rain. (what i would give to be able to get off work) by 11am it could be good if you are lucky enough to hit a spot where the rain has let up some and the surf is not so rough. ie; inside of inlet or beach front with some rocky structure like short jetties/ toss the bucktails right into the jetty point and let it sink to the bottom and jig. these fish find the rocks to look up from and are well protected. they won;t stay long. some of this system will be hard and some will just be a pia and as you know. then the surf soon enough becomes a hazard. i will book that a nice fish will come out of this in this time frame. don;t listen to roc, go and catch a fish as us older bastages are just as lazy as the big girls are. so what if you fall in and drown, one less googin to answer questions to. (just kiddin) show me the money fish boyeeeeeeeee!!!!
