Get the fish back in the water!!! Have your camera with batteries, tape and scale ready. If you have to run back to your car the fish will die. If you have the means purchase a lip gripper with a scale. Rapala makes a cheaper one to the standard quality boga grip.
When you have the fish under control remove the hook with long handled pliers or a hook remover.

Use single hooks and circle hooks with bait. Crush the barbs on your treble hooks with pliers. Handle the fish without removing the fishes protective slime coat. Nets have a tendency to damage fish and the slime coat.
Grip the fish by the lower jaw and support the fishes weight with your other hand. Resuscitate the fish by moving it back and forth in the water making sure that the water flows through the mouth and over its gills. Release it when you feel it bite down on your hand. The fish will let you know when she's ready for release.

Never put your hand or fingers anywhere near a bluefishes mouth.
