Gettin Jiggy

Hey kids...I'm new to the forum and I operate out of PLymouth. Just bought a 20' Key West (1996) and can't wait to get out there!
Has anyone ever jigged for Stripers? I'm dying to find out what to use, where, and how deep......any thoughts?

Also any secrets on where to get Cod without going too far out?

I don't know about where you are but here in NJ Crippled herrings, Krocs, Diamond jigs, and hopkins all worked for me last year.

did someone say jiggy?? I got a pretty serious hardon for jiggin' and it never goes away!!

If I had to go to war with one lure day or night, deep or shallow, calm or rough water it would be a jig, I pour three differnt styles in 4 sizes, I keep the color selection to two, yellow or white, white is my first choice, I cant count how many fish Ive tken on a jig with a piece of porkrind, my first striper was caught on a 1/2 ounce uppermans in 1972, my first fish of every year comes on a jig, most seasons the last fish is caught on a jig... yessah read the jig mans articles and get jiggy with it!

Question (you'll be able to tell I am a novice)
Up here in the Northeast I've done alot of Cod Jigging with the Norweigan Jigs (never had luck with Diamond). When Striper jigging is it the same technique? Am I doing this in deep water or the same shallow spots I might chunck bait fish?
