First plug

I was rumaging around a bucket of misc. junk the other day and came across this old clunker, it was the first plug I ever made, somewhere around 1980, things were simple, a broom stick, poured lead in a drilled hole through wired with galvy wire,and house paint, hundreds of fish latter... she came to land in a bucket of crap, I'm going to send it to my son, someday oit will mean more to him than it does to me...

Looks like a 1 1/4 atoms popper, except for the tail hook. Are you sure Bob Pond didn't make it. Did you copy it.

I think you ment popper. But that is that I fish with, atom poppers.

Man, is that yellow one a POS or what ?

Made out of a broken pool cue handle, explains the x pattern and shaped on a Milwaulkee belt sander clamped in a bench vise. Rustoleum yellow, a poorly shaped lip, screw eye hook holders and some cheap stick on eyes. Whole thing dipped in urathane.
Swims like crap.

I would guess we improved a little.. funny what experience can do... so all you beginners take heart.... not everything we ever made was pretty or even caught fish!
