welcome.gif I am in the catskills and I am looking to get my first striper. thumbsup.gif Does anyone know where in the Hudson River they are located now?
Hi Jason. welcome to the board
welcome.gif
The bulls will arrive first around the Tappen Z bridge. Some guys have reported catches around the Croton area. The larger females havent arrived yet.
Read the thread "fishing the Hudson" sticky to get a general idea of where they will be and when. Its not a good idea to chase reports. Always try to make your own. Remember you have to put your time in. From shore try to find a flat around the break of dawn or at dusk. You will become a better fisherman by learning their habits and behaviors.
The water is still a tad cold, but If it were me I would concentrate around the feeder creeks where the bait gets flushed out and shallower coves where the water warms faster.
It will bust in a few weeks. Read this thread http://stripers247.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2865
(I moved this thread to the Hudson river forum)
