Shimano Sustain 8000FE or Saragosa 10000

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to buy a new striper reel. I'm debating on either the Shimano Sustain 8000FE and the Saragosa 10000. I have looked at the comparison. Sustain = smoother and the Saragosa = tougher with increased drag capacity along with a larger spool which would hold more lines. I will be fishing mostly at the damn around Tennessee. Any suggestion would be appreciative. Even other brand recommendation would be nice too. I'm a beginner but I want to get something that would last for awhile in those price range.

Personally I would go with the Sustain. A quality reel...have one myself. Will catch 40+" fish no problem!!! I fish the Cape Cod Canal which at some point has a flow ovate least 9 knots. I haven't had a problem hauling in big Striper even in this swift current.

I think I'm going to take your recommendation. How about a rod? I was thinking of buying something in the 9' range. What do you recommend for fishing mostly on the spillway of the dam.

I would try the St. Croix Mojo. Very nice!!
