what to fish fro in March with no boat?

I will be in Sag Harbor at the end of March, I will not have a boat. I know flounder starts on April 1. Is there any other species to go for from land or surf. I've only heard of for black fish form a boat out there. Any ideas??

just down size the lures for the small bass bait go with worms and clams all u can do is get out and try tite lines and good fishin

THANKS, for the feedback, city fisherman. That's what I was thinking. I pretty much stick to catch & release anyway. I just can't go out there, and not fish.
