I saw widespread spawning activity!!!!

Of course, I WAS on YouPorn at the time, but hey sex is sex, right? Seriously though if we don't cool down SOON, it'll all be over by next weekend. Watertemps yesterday were a consistant 54 degrees from the Catskill creek to the Stockport creek. The shallows (~3ft) outside of the mouth of the Catskill creek were 60 degrees! Hope for rain boys and cooler temps at night.

It will cool off (or at least level off) this week. In all of the past recent years, we have gotten a fairly fast temperature increase during the 3rd week in April, and the 1st week in May is almost always what I like to call a leveling off time before the temps go up again.

I agree 100%. Last year was such a great season in my opinion because the water quickly warmed into the mid 50's then leveled off for a couple of weeks.

Weather cools off tomorrow.Water should stabilize. Hope it is good this weekend.

Water temp. at Albany 59-degrees today. There should be some big striped bass on hooks at Troy this weekend.

A lot of herring in the river this year. And that is a good thing.

Lets hope the New England herring runs show a similar bounce up in thheir numbers.
