Real simple question about tying in
Hey guys, what's the preferred method of tying into lures? Do you use a snap swivel on your leader or tie right to the lure?
Thanks
Marc

Small Spro swivel, 36"+ leader material, modified Duolock snap.
Do a search, this has been covered often and in detail

I know, I know. I'm a little retarded when it comes to searches. I can never find what I'm looking for.
Thanks for putting up with me guys ;)

Re: Real simple question about tying in
I use a variation on the Homer Rhodes knot.
http://www.noreast.com/knots/knotspage3.cfm
It's only good for about 50% line strength though (or so they say).
Ties easy in a rush, easily undone to change lure if heavy leader is used, Nice with cold fingers.
Generally use 17# running line w/ 50# leader so the 50% knot strength still gives a safe 25# connection. My leaders are for abrasions only anyways.

I use the Rapala knot myself without a hitch.

Just noticed that is drawn wrong too!
As shown the bitter end comes thru forming a overhand on the top of the lower knot with the bitter end pointed towards the lure (less weeding).
I usually clip the heavy leader on a pointy angle to help retying. Leaving a loop, it does not detract from any action at all.
