The body of a third man was found this afternoon inside the cabin of a boat that capsized off Atlantic City, the Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard had searched more than 1,100 square miles of the Atlantic about five miles off the coast before a TowBoat U.S. salvage team righted the boat and found the body of 64-year-old Jerry Berwick of Philadelphia.
The Coast Guard discovered the overturned 25-foot boat Knucklehead at about 1:10 a.m. today after it was alerted Wednesday evening that the men had not returned from their fishing trip, said Coast Guard spokesman Specialist NyxoLyno Cangemi.
Two of the men were discovered at the boat and declared dead. They were identified as Danny Pavic of Galloway, N.J., and Mark Stroud 45.
There were life jackets aboard the boat, but the men were not wearing them, Cangemi said. He said the water temperature was about 50 degrees.
Airplane and helicopter crews, as well as Coast Guard boat crews and crews from Sea Tow Services International, TowBoat U.S. and the New Jersey State Police Marine Services Unit are searching for the missing fisherman.
The Knucklehead was being towed to Somers Point, N.J.
Earlier Wednesday, the Coast Guard responded to another report of an overturned boat in the Delaware Bay off New Jersey.
A 72-year-old man died in that incident after he was trapped in the capsized fishing boat while two men fishing with him were saved by a passing boat.
Marcial Ramos of Minotola, N.J., died at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pamona, N.J., after he was trapped in the 22-foot-long boat’s cabin when it capsized at 10:13 a.m., New Jersey State Police Marine Unit spokesman Rich Ernst said.
His two relatives, William Pabon, 60, and Alex Centeno, 33, both of Millville, N.J., were rushed from the 40-degree water to Regional Medical Center in Vineland, N.J., where they were treated for hypothermia and released, Ernst said.

The three men had headed out from the nearby marina in Matts Landing on Pabon’s boat to fish for striped bass when, for an unknown reason, their 1988 Chris-Craft motorboat began taking on water and then flipped over near the mouth of the Maurice River, Ernst said.
“The elderly gentleman was going back in the cabin to get the life jackets when it capsized,” Ernst said. “It happened rather quickly.”
News of the capsized boat reached the Coast Guard at about 10:15 a.m. when the fisherman who rescued Pabon and Centeno called them, Cangemi said.
Ramos' body was pulled from underneath the boat by rescue personnel.
