Collegues from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Virginia Institute of
Marine Science, Maryland Department of Natural resoruces, Delaware Fish
and Wildlife, and New York DEP are conducting a two-year high-reward
tagging study for striped bass. The goal is to produce estimates of the
rate at which tags are returned by anglers along the US Atlantic coast
need for our assessment of the striped bass population. In March-May,
striped bass were tagged on all major spawning grounds (Chesapeake Bay,
Delaware Bay, and Hudson River) and released, so there are now bass with
tags worth up to $125. I've attached the poster for the program, and I
am wondering if you would tell your constituency about the program via
your message board?
