Though I ended my season a couple weeks ago, it's now official as today I cleaned up the boat and stored my gear.
To say that this run was epic would be a complete understatement. I can't think of an outing that I didn't catch something. I was able to put each of my guests on fish. That's rare for me since I'm not chasing them up and down the river in my 15' Alaskan. My personal favorite moment was watching my grandfather catch his first river striper. You would have thought he hit the lottery. He felt like a celebrity when he saw his pic on riverbasinsports.com lol
It's been a season full of personal bests. Most in a season:43(not including what my guests caught), most in a day:10 and FINALLY after 16 years breaking the 40" mark ...3 times in one week! My biggest touching the line at 42". I can't begin to imagine how this season would have ended up if I spent as much time out there as I once did.
Congratulations to Gunner, Brian and all of you other crusty salts that had a record breaking year. Let's hope this becomes more frequent. I'll see you around. Until then, I'm hopping in the boat and cranking some tunes. It's Miller time!
