Re: fall hudson r fishing
Fished out of Schodack Island SP today, warm and breezy, high tide falling, water temp 60. Bunch of cats on worms, biggest about 20". One smallie about 13" on a white perch. Marked clouds of fish on the fish finder suspended about halfway down in 30' of water. Wouldn't hit worms, so on a hunch I rigged the pole with the remains of a sabiki, two juvenile herring about 2" long. I think the season ends on them in June. Too bad, would make good bait.
Ran the outboard out of gas when I pulled the boat. Maybe the last trip this year, long range forecast don't look so good. I figure 50 times on the Hudson this year.
God, do I hate ice fishing. Oh well.
