DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents made 11 fishing-related arrests in five separate incidents this past week.
One of the people arrested was 46-year-old George Chiartas of Rehoboth Beach. He was arrested last Saturday and charged with netting in a prohibited area and fishing without a license in an incident at Red Mill Pond near Lewes.

Fish and Wildlife Enforcement makes 11 arrests for fishing violations
DOVER (March 24, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents this past week made 11 fishing-related arrests in five separate incidents.
Cuong B. Truong, age 57, of Cherry Hill, N.J, and Alexander V. Le, age 46, of Upper Darby, Pa., were arrested on March 17 near Cherry Island Flats north of Wilmington and each charged with one count of possession of undersized striped bass. Kim N. Hong, age 36, of Springfield, Pa., was arrested and charged with fishing without a license. The three men were fined and released.
George N. Chiartas, age 46, of Rehoboth Beach, was arrested on March 19 and charged with netting in a prohibited area and fishing without a license in an incident at Red Mill Pond near Lewes. He was fined and released.
Willie J. Williams, age 28, of New Castle, was arrested on March 19 at the Churchmans Road Boat Ramp near Newark and charged with fishing without a license. Williams was also wanted on capiases out of the Court of Common Pleas and Justice of the Peace Court 11 in New Castle. Williams was fined for the fishing charges and turned over to the court for the outstanding capiases.
In an incident on March 20 at Cherry Island Flats north of Wilmington, Adam J. Porter, age 21, of Aston, Pa., was arrested and charged with fishing without a license and one count of possession of undersized bass. William J. Porter, age 25, of New Castle, Kevin J. Fawley, age 20, of Delmar, and Wayne W. Fawley, age 51, of Garnet Valley, Pa., were arrested and each charged with fishing without a license. The four men were fined and released.
Alexey V. Prosekov, age 26, of Chicago, was arrested on March 21 at Ingrams Pond near Millsboro, and charged with illegally using a cast net to take crappie. He was fined and released. A second angler, Aliaksei Babayed, age 25, of Titon, Ill., was taken into custody on a capias out of Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown.
