Default Correlating rips with tides

We fish on the Atlantic side of Monomoy Island. We have been unable to correlate when the rips start to form versus the high and low tides for the area. Does anyone have any wisdom?

Many factors go into the forming of rips,, tide size, direction of flow, bottom structure and moon phase and wind direction all have to be taken into account when judging when tide rips will form, and this changed by the hour, day/night, tide... only prolonged study of the area can provide you with the knowledge you desire...

147 Congratulations on finding one of the most treacherous areas on the east coast. At the least it caused the Mayflower to turn around. Generally speaking the rips make up with the water rushing to the high tide mark or rushing to the low tide mark. AT the top and bottom of the tide it's called slack.
I hope you take no chances while learning the area.

147 Another idea is at a marina or marine supply buy your self a --ELDRIDGE TIDE BOOK-- George Eldridge Was the first to wright the tides on the whole east coast including the --graveyard--. I think the part your looking for is the flow in Pollack rip Chanel which meets monomy point and the Atlantic flow---rips--
stay safe
