Spawning

Does anyone fish the lower Chesapeake around the Hampton/Newport News area?Do the big ones make it that far south or do they mostly hug the Eastern Shore?A friend has a 19footer and is not quite sure about going out to the Ches. tunnel.Any suggestions on where to fish for big ones around my area?Also where do stripers usually go for their spawning?Will they head up into any river or just the ones that turn Brackish or freshwater?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Last winter season we caught our limit and more every time we went out,mostly to the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.Most of what we caught was on live spot.Any other suggestions on bait and techniques with that bait would help also.
