Re: Huge Striper??
I'd love to shake his hand for catching and releasing a fish that deserved to be released. That old, she would not have been good eating anyway. Great catch. I'm glad he got some pictures of her. I hope we start seeing more that size.

Re: Huge Striper??
It's hard to say if it is photo shopped or not. I suppose there will always be suspicion whether justified or not.
Believe the reason it was released ( if this is true ) was because it was caught in an area that is off limits to fishing. If that is true I hope there are serious penalties to the angler that poached it

Re: Huge Striper??
if it's legit pic it's easy 70# fish. i'm not sure i'd have yanked it up like that to release it afterward but i'd have surely took the later pic. i just can't put my finger on the reason to blur out the face? wtf? if it is a chop my hats off to the author. if it's a catch of a lifetime i am duly impressed. i thought it was al mcreynolds son to be honest with you...

Re: Huge Striper??
Unless she was caught in a large land locked, or fenced in area, it roams the ocean, and hopefully we will see more of them in that class. I certainly hope it wasn't caught in a restricted area, and the face being blurred is questionable. But unless the second picture is photo-chopped, he is not hiding his identity.
I think we know what needs to happen when we catch them in that class. Zim is right about the way she is being held in the first photo, but a hug, kiss, picture and release is the right thing to do. I'll save a few of the offspring for the dinner table.

Re: Huge Striper??
I bet he blurred out his face because he had a stupid/hilarious look on his face trying to lift that thing out of the water.

Settle down Finny, I guarantee if DR was standing on a rock next to you and you hauled in a fish of that size he would be the first to congratulate you. Thats all I am going to say.
That is one beautiful fish! Must have been an amazing experience for the angler. I don't care where he caught it that is the fish of many lifetimes. That is definitely a contender. Congrats to the angler and Heres to hoping there are many more out there Just like her.

Re: Huge Striper??
Sorry guys, I'm all about conservation too, but if I ever catch a 70#er I'm mounting it - When I'm done I'm taking it to get weighed then off to the taxidermist

LMAO. If this fish was legally caught...and released successfully....then I congratulate and admire that man.
Do you know what WTF means?
Way Too Fun
So POS must mean Positively Outstanding Striperfisherman
In all seriousness I know you don't care for my conservationist views. If I felt the stock was producing tens of thousands of bigguns like that every year then I might feel differently. But I don't and so I am willing to sacrifice my own ego for the sake of future generations of healthy stripers. But that's just my own opinion and I may be totally wrong. I also don't have a problem with those who take the occassional keeper for the dinner table. But I don't believe every keeper size fish has to be killed to stock a freezer or an ego
Oops...off topic. Back to the show
