Default New Yorks Unknown Huge Hybrid lake

The Eldred preserve is a little known hamlet on the tri state border of NY. Pa. and NJ. . Situated on 3,000 acres of wooded land, Eldred Preserve is located in Eldred, near Yulan, in New York's Sullivan County.
It is a short distance from Barryville and the Delaware River. It is not very far from Washington Lake, a stop in Barryville on the Bass Masters Tour. (A nice place to hit golf balls in the winter time on the ice.)
The larger lake, Steges, is long, narrow and full of shallow weeds, stumps and fallen-tree structure. It is especially good for largemouth bass, pickerel and sunfish.
The other lake, Sunrise, is more bowl-shaped and deeper, with no surface cover. Although it has a good population of largemouth and smallmouth bass, it also has some enormous crappies and was stocked years ago with hybrid stripers.
The stripers are not easy to come by, but they have grown to large sizes. Aluminum bass boats with electric motors are available for rent at both lakes.
The hybrids are of Enormous sizes and a New York State record could likely come from there. (catch and release only lake)
For directions and information, call 800-557-3474 or visit www.eldredpreserve.com.

That's a good looking fish. My guess is, besides being well-fed, this is a fairly old bruiser, probably near the end of its life. I'll bet he still made you think you'd snagged on a stump until you felt the fabled head shake.
