We may not all agree on the politics that get our soldiers there, but the one thing I think we should all agree on is that the soldiers themselves deserve our support, recognition, and gratitude for their dedication to country.
One thing that always bothered me about Viet Nam was the total lack of recognition/respect and in some cases the abuse our soldiers took, especially when returning home.
On Tuesday, I took my father to the VA hospital for some out-patient surgery. While waiting I got to talk to and thank several wounded vets from the Gulf that were in for treatment. Even though most I spoke with had suffered injuries that will effect the rest of their lives, all had great attitudes. Made me respect them all the more.
