I have been messing around with using large shinners in the small lake i fish. Was wondering what size and kind of hook you guys are using . The shinners are about 4' long, and they are for stripers and hybrids.Also have any of you used the storm shad for trolling or casting , and if so what size and weight. Thanx in advance for any responce. Mike (GWIG)
One of my favorite small shiner hooks for hybrids are a # 1 or #2 Gamakatsu octopus circle. I like to insert the hook through the mouth and out the nostril. It will keep them breathing and frisky.
