Data Needed to Avert Closure of Snapper/Grouper Fishery‏

The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (SAFMC) is currently considering a management alternative, which would close the Mid-Atlantic snapper/grouper fishery. The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's Marine Fisheries Administration is reaching out to snapper/grouper anglers to collect catch data necessary to avert the closure of the Mid-Atlantic fishery by the SAFMC.

A few million more fishermen, poachers, foreign fishing fleets, a couple of dozen oil spills, tons of garbage, sewage runoffs and various other crap and I'd say no. Somebody has to be watching the health of the stocks.
