i catch them by the 100s with a castnet. i sneek up into back bays. usually 2 to 4 foot of water is where i catch them. alot of times they will be in a shallow marina. i have noticed they like muddy bottoms and merky water. there will be a school that will break and ill cast overtop of them and let the net sink then pull it in. usually somwhere between 20 to 60 if you hit the school right. these hpwever are small pogies. 2 to 4 inches. i will fill a bucket anchor up and chum with them it works pretty good. i have caught big bass on the little guys.
i like to filet the bastages when they are in thick and i have plenty of bait. the fluttering of meat is irresistable to them. i get some huge fluke this way as well.
i have caught alot of fluke with fileted bukner. alot of time i will use fluke strips or scraps and flounder love it
