Hey guys was wondering if any one has a suggestions on how to keep the main line on my planer boards tight while trolling. My main line is about 75 feet and seems to get a lot of slack in it while trolling. when the line is loose it makes my rod lines jump ?? Is this correct?
What speed is your boat moving? We use the handrails on the hardtop on our boat that is about 5 or 6 ft off the water as the pivot point for the planer tow lines and have no problems.
Keep your lines as high as possible and check your speed if those things don't work you may need to adjust your boards to pull harder.
