Default Lower Illinois

Been fishing the Lower Illinois for Trout alot lately. Slaying them Left and right. My buddy and I hook up some Nice and Fat Browns and Rainbows on Worms and Eggs. I will use Panther Martin lures as well when the sun starts to come out...

Now we both just started fishing for Stripers below the Bridge. We went out last weekend for the 1st time and didnt catch a single thing. Just looking for any tips to hook up on some Stripers. Thanks

Alan

Welcome aboard Alan,
I've never fished the Illinois for stripers, but here's a link to some great info for the beginner. Hope you find it helpful!

All the trout they stock are small size near the damn.....Go down river a few miles and you can hook up on some really nice BROWN's and RAINBOW's.....

The best time to fish for the stripers is in the heat of the summer. It is also best any time they are discharging water from Tenkiller dam. Something about the current that makes them aggressive.
