Default Distance casting q?

Im curious to know what kind of line you guys use in tournaments. Im assuming a superbraid with a small diameter and strong.

No braid.

We use .31mm mono for the 150 gram (5.25oz) sinkers and .28mm mono for the 125 gram (4.5oz) sinkers. Depending on the make the .31 is 10-12 lb test and the .28 is 8-10 lb test. Shockleader is .75mm which is usually 60 lb test.

I like Sakuma line but Bass Pro Shop titeline in 8-10 lb test is pretty darn good casting line for the $$$$.

Rod,

That is a GREAT looking parabolic bend you've got going with the HDX. That rod is still amazing to me. Dollar for dollar nothing comes close, IMHO.

I'll see you in about 11 days,

Tommy

Wow.
I had Nickaway do a custom 1509 for me. What a rod.
Very light for the size and fun to heave.
I however can do nothing like you guys with it.
People stop to watch it fly though. Awesome.
I paired it with an emblem pro for now instead of a t series reel.
