We spent a week at Havasu down by the dam and Bill Williams area with the wind blowing most days and freezing cold, ice was even on the boat slip ramps in the morning. I took the trip because 1 snowbird friend of mine caught a 22 lb striper and another friend of mine was catching 4-10lb stripers at this time. The trip paid off for us as we caught lots of striped bass to 9 lbs in mostly 1-8 feet of water up against the banks. The wind was keeping the shad pinned close to the shoreline and we were throwing mostly spoons up against the shore and trolling rattle traps close to the bottom in 8 feet of water. Very COOOOOOOOOL trip.
