Are there stripers in Matawan Creek?

Hi.

I'm not from around those parts and I'll be visiting in mid May. This looks like a real interesting place to launch my inflatable with trolling motor and go exploring. But I only want to explore if I have a decent chance of catching fish.

Are there stripers in the Matawan? It looks deep enough and long enough but I can't find any info on the net. Everything I keep finding is about the Jaws shark attacks from 1916.

Some advice please.

PS. I'd also go to Lake Lefferts on the same day to try some FW fishing.

Yes, there are stripers to be caught. Keep in mind that the creek is considered freshwater so you will need your license.

also, do you know if there's a public launch or do you have to go through a marina? also need parking.
