Catskill creek?

So I'm working out of town in Catskill. The creek runs right across the street from the job site. A local told me they catch strikers just down stream from where I'm working, so my question is, do strikers actually run up the creek?

Cool. Thanks Rotter I'm working on the ADI lumber yard renovation. Sadly today was my last day there. Saw lots of herring but only brought my bass rod. I did get a large mouth at lunch though.
