After gillnetting and jigging up plenty of bait early early yesterday morning, we hit the SWC just after daybreak. Unfortunately there was zero tuna, bait, birds, whales and any other life that gets the adrenaline pumping.
All in all a very slow day.
However things change quickly and I did get a report of globs of mackerel deep inside Cape Cod Bay. I'm sure the big 300 pound tuna reported last week will venture back our direction soon.
In the meantime, for those tuna addicts stuck with a boat more apt for striper fishing, I have attached a link below that may be of interest. Tight lines and I hope you all bag a giant this year.
"Giant Tuna Fishing from a Small Boat"
Cape Cod's giant bluefin tuna can be caught by weekend warriors fishing from small boats. The right gear and game plan is all that is needed for a chance to hookup with a true giant.
