Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
If I screwed the pooch on the count I will begrudgingly give up my "40" that Mike contributed for The Grand poobah. Aint no Begrudge on my part, however cause I got 50 plugs for the man.

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
So I go and test swim the plugs today at the local pond. Shore is lined with kids catching bluegills and I pull out 10 plugs that are bigger then the fish they are pulling in. Took all of 5 minutes and I had an audience asking questions. I got some pretty funny looks at first, until I explained that I was only testing plugs and not trying to catch bluegills with them. Luckily, I tested all 10 and they all swam great. I would have been embarrassed if I forgot to open the bail and launched one to the other shore of the pond.

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
I just took the first batch off the spinna. Sick! I picked up some "House Of Kolor" paints from Wally world on clearance. Un-Friggin- real.
The pop in your face shean kicks my ass, I want to keep all of them.

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
wait till you see the second run...............................
can you say metalics?
can you say shine like a new penny?
can you say........................................NUTS!
No more acrylics for me, I'm hooked on laquer!
Built in flakes, they layer like nothing you can imagine, and look 8 feet deep.
Even if the fish don't like them they are fo' sho' purty.

laquer makes an awesome finish.... just smells way too much for me... I used it years ago, and it sure is purty... durable as hell too...

Or is it 6 for the builders, and 1 for that other guy? Mine are basically packed ( I packed 8), with a few left over, should I need them. I can ship whenever.

I think it's 7 total and that includes Jim.

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
Rick is correct, 7... seeing as there are 7 of us, our own plug goes to Jim...

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
Roc's signature is "When I was young, all I wanted to do was fish,I had the time, but seldom the means, now that I'm older, I have the means, but seldom the time..."
Ain't that the truth. When I was a kid, I'd be out fishing everyday and everywhere I could peddle to. I was lucky enough to have the Spicket River down the street from me, and ponds a few miles ride away. Grab the rod, hop on the bike and go fishing for whatever we could catch. Go out the night before and catch night crawlers. Head down to the river and catch frogs. Use a piece of your lunch for bait. Now, time is the factor, and not having enough of it.....
Sorry for the off topic blurp.... Now it's time to get back to swapping plugs.

We all pretty much started the same ... I did my pedaling to Haggets pond and the Merrimack river....pre-drivers license, a friend and I would pack our bikes on thursday nights, then, Friday after school, pedal to Plum Island( 30+ miles), surfcast, camp on the beach, sell what we caught for for food and pedal home Sunday afternoon...most parents these days would be terrified to let thier children attempt such a thing.... ours though nothing of it!.. back to toipic...

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
for me growing up fishing was as easy as 10 steps out the back door. througout my teenage years i lived on lake watatic in ashburnham massachusetts. my cousin chris (known as ckphelps here on the board) lived a stones throw from lower naukeag lake..which was a 20 minute bike ride from where i lived. we had a total of four lakes within twenty minute bike rides from eachother. upper naukeag, lower naukeag, watatic, and sunset lake. they are all loaded with big bucket mouth bass, pickeral, yellow perch, sunfish(kivers as we know them) and a few have a good stock of smallies and crappie. fishing was just about what we lived for. many years later my introduction to stripers was made by ck's father, my uncle curt....ive been hooked ever since and would rather drive two hours for a shot at a cow than tool around for largies...although i still tinker when i can locally. it is true..growing up i fished almost everyday...now that i have responsibilities i have to go when i can find the time.
oh..back on topic...i took lunch to test the swap plugs... they swim pissah.

Re: First Stripers 247 plug swap
glad you got em roc. i hope everyone will like em...i ended up totally changing the color pattern mid-way through painting the original plan. they are nothing fancy, just a basic swimming plug...that hopefully will attract a few bass to the dinner table.
