My son and I fish from a boat on Saltwater. Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. We mainly fish for striper, amberjack, cobia, Drum, flounder and spadefish to name a few that we catch.

Couldn't mark more than one.

I fish off the coast of NC from the surf, and from my 19' CC.

Fish in VA on the lake, from boat.

Growing up on Cape Cod, I used to surfcasted all the time until I could afford a reliable boat! Now living near the Cheasapeake it is mostly boat for me these days. I do surf cast when I get back to the cape a few times per year. Nothing beats sitting on a beach or jetty on a warm summers night with a full moon and the right tide.

You do get a very different perspective out there at night, especially when you are face to face with a bass. The wosrt is a sand shark, they are worse than blues cause the wrap around your line andtangle it all to hell. Then with you try to grab them, they wrap themselves around your arm and are very strong. In the water you can't brace yourself against anything and have no leverage. Retying and casting take some getting used to as well. Its challenging. You keep your eels in ziplock bags and hoookem right through the bag and rip em out. If you can float on your back in a pool and drink a beer while holding a 10' rod without spilling any and w/o drinking any water then you can probably rety in the ocean at night. When you want to keep a fish, you attach it to the stringer on your belt. The bass swims around and pokes you in the ass and the back of the legs while you drift. Now you are really a chum pot.

Mr. Melnyks New site. very nice. http://surfcasting.com/index.html

from a boat ....up lake .....Binocks up and watching for the gulls to do their biological tornado ......speed in flipin tops ...then follow up with bucktails and a white mister twister when they dive.

At least ........That's the way it used to be in the 70s and I'd very much like to get back there.
