Fishermen cannot have bass between 22 and 27 inches at any time.
Anglers are required to use a single barbless hook or a lure with a single barbless hook when fishing the upper Roanoke River from April 1 through June 30. Anglers can make hooks barbless by crimping down the barb.
The NCWRC has a pocket-sized information card on releasing stripers safely available at its Web site, www.ncwildlife.org
. The commission will post online weekly reports from the Roanoke River every Thursday.
For more information on fishing in public, inland waters, call the Division of Inland Fisheries at 919-707-0220.
