Jeff Oh yeah I forgot about the yak. Well in y mind I think that kinda rules out productively trolling artificials. Now live bait is a whole other ball game as slow is the key with that, however transporting live bait for you might be a problem. That kinda leaves casting and bottom fishing.

I'm thinking of liver, I understand East Fork Wipers like chicken livers.
I couldn't keep shad alive very long, even though with some creativity on my part, I could run an aerator w/my sonar battery.
I still think I'm able to troll 3mph give or take, my yak is built for moving at a decent speed, it's not an arrow, but not a white water play boat either. I've read on the Salt Water yak sites Ocean Kayaks keeping a 4-5 mph pace.
I think 3 sustained is doable, depending on wind/current.
We'll see, it's fun finding out.
