delaware bay and indian river inlet

hi guys, i'm a beginner striper chaser. i am not greedy my goal is to boat one legal fish this season. this is my first season. i will be fishing the delaware bay and indian river inlet and rehoboth bay. my question is when do they show up in these areas and when do they really get hot? what are the keys to look for water temp,water depth, and structure? also what are the preferred methods for fishing for them? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. i'm just looking to show the family a fun day on the water. thanks everyone!

Clams in the spring- Bunker in the fall. I always do better in the fall but many do better in the spring. Anchor up, drop your lines and wait. Chum and they will come. I try to fish away from the fleet. Del Bay has been very good. Be patient and you will get more than one!

thanks jiminpa. i will give it a try. can i ask what do you look for to know where to anchor up at? do you anchor over structure or what? do you use a chum block or what? can u do this and drift instead of anchor? thanks for any info i really appreciate this!

You usually do much better for stripers while anchored. We chunk up bunker or clam and throw a piece or two out every few minutes. I have actually filleted stripers that had 5 or 6 pieces of my chunks in its belly. As far as location- I usually look for a drop off but I have a few spots that produce that are flat as a pancake. Click on my youtube link and watch the video that comes up. You will see the size of chunks we use for bait and chum. We also rig one line with a whole bunker.

They were actually just outside of the inlet all winter (within the 3 miles), they just recently headed up the bay
