Decent Striper Landed in Albany
Launched out of Corning Preserve at 0615 and picked up first Herring around 0700. Had good hit and set the hook with solid hookset and fish on. My brother Jason began fighting the fish and after about 10-15 minutes, we landed it. She weighed in at 17lbs, 14ozs and 34 1/2 inches long. Fish was released and looked good, as she swam away. Fish was taken north of Albany on live Herring. Herring were a little slow to come by, but we didn't have a problem getting enough bait. No other runs to report and didn't see any fish taken. Left at around 1230 near low tide. Finally made up for the fish that snapped my leader! This was my brother's first Striper so...Way to go Jay!!! You should have seen his face when the he finally worked it close to the boat. I think his eyes were bigger than the fish!!!
