Harbor Tackle’s Fishing Report, December 11, 2006
Blues were still hot this past week. Last Sunday at AI Tom Bradley hooked up with a 30” striper. On Monday Tom caught a 26” blue and his friend, Dana Davidson took a 29” blue. Got a report from 3R’s that there were lots of blues up to 36” and a few rock mostly in the 25” range. Tuesday the beach was hot again with lots of nice blues at dead low tide. There were no dogfish and skates were less than 10 lbs. The end of the week was not as hot as the beginning; however, there were still some blues, skates, sharks, and some small stripers with a couple of legals mixed in. The Rt. 50 Bridge was a great place to be this week. The stripers were hitting hard. Most of them were shorties with a few fish 28” and over. People are fishing the Inlet hard with eels, live saltys, and any left over live spot. Short stripers, shad, and blues are at the Inlet. Little Gull is producing big blues and some legal stripers. The baits of choice are live eels, spot, and black saltys. Little Gull was producing some legal stripers. No reports on tog fishing as the season is closed until January 1, 2007.
Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, live eels, live chowder clams, and live black saltys.
