Hi smk379 - good to see you over here. Yeah, that was a fun bluefish blitz. The thing I liked the most was watching EVERYBODY hook some fish, even those who couldn't catch a fish if you put it on the hook for them LOL. It was so funny watching their expressions as they tried to reel those brutes in, and then getting them unhooked. And for sure, watching the "girlfriends" catching fish was fun too. Lot's of screaming and excitement. A good time was had by all.

Hi Frankie - We are fortunate to have these guys to fill in the gaps. They are always willing LOL. We'll have to get together for a beer at Applebees soon.

Anytime Rich, except for this tuesday, thursday or friday.

Some insight into this fall season would be helpful as well.

Rich,
I go to Fort Trumbull every yr. for the fireworks display, we have a picnic at friends on Elm St, a great place for viewing the whole beach's display, Now don't tell me you were married to Bonnie ?

Just wanted to say I caught my personal best bluefish (32 inches) yesterday. Amazing, what a fight. He took 4 or 5 nice long runs, the drag was zzzzzzzz'ing. Fought way harder than any bass I've ever caught of similar size. I couldn't imagine catching multiple fish like that in a day.

brzman - WOW, right next door LOL. Sounds like you know the Smith family. My understanding is that Bonnie's husband (also named Rich) died quite a while back. I may be wrong about that. I saw Bonnie this summer when I came up for a day to see everybody. Saw Tommy also. I'll probably be up there for lobster rolls and a family visit in the not too distant future, so I'll let you know if I do. Could meet in person then.

Small world ain't it LOL.

A friend of mine just reported that a bluefish he kept for the smoker was infested with some kind of worm. His description was pretty creepy, like something out of the movie "The Thing" LOL. He said that when he went to clean it, there were a whole bunch of these worms, several inches long, coming out of the flesh.

Doesn't sound too appetizing to me.

Anybody else see anything like this?
