Default Shad

Does anyone know where And how to catch gizzard shad? I know that you can't catch them in smith lake or if you can it's very difficult. I don't mind driving somewhere to catch them or even bringing my boat along with me if I need to. Any advice will be helpful thanks!

Default Re: Shad

Most of the Shad that are sold by the 2 bait shops near Smith Lake are caught below the dam at Henry Neeley.

The 2 baits shops are:
1. Country Mall which is located about 2 miles from Big Bridge on Ryan Creek
2. Speegle's Marina

If anyone else is aware of another place to purchase or catch shad I would also be greatful to know about it.
