Anybody had any luck fishing in the Albemarle Sound or Pasquotank River in September. We hooked a 20 inch Rock on a deepdiving Smithwick when we went out for an hour on Sunday. I was marking alot of fishing on the sonar and saw alot of baitfish. The water temperature however was a 78 degree tub of bathwater. The countdown is closer to October 1 everyday!!
Late reply here, but... 1st 2 weeks of season, I landed 20 or so fish, no keepers though. Past week, big fat goose egg. Was catching on storm baits, smithwicks, and rattle traps. Anybody had any better luck??

My boy got his first keeper 19.5 last week and other than that it is goose eggs for us also. Marking alot of bait though. The water temperature is still high 60's. The fish hopefully will come in with a drop in water temp. Oh yea the keeper and the small ones were caught on Smithwicks.
