Yesterday I was out by a local lighthouse area and you wouldn't believe the herd of sand eels in the water!!!!
I didn't think there were that many on the planet!!!
All about 2" long too, and soooo thick.
Is it breeding season or something???
I've never, ever seen anything like this before.
The water was like an slick from so many and all in the top foot or so of water too. (or looked that way to me)
Unfortunately, no bass found. But there were sm.blues gorging themselves.
Back half of the boat was covered with upchucked sandeels from the blues.
Wish I had the flyrod.
