Race Point 6/30 P.M. low tide

I was skunked big time. First every ten or so casts what ever I had tied on would fly right off. Not knot separation, the line would break. 25# braid and it would snap like dental floss. After donating several slugo's, 6" minnows, and several eels, I gave up and switched to a hi lo rig with sand eels. Then a big fat old seal parked his rump out in teh surf right in front mof me for over 40 minutes. I gave up at that point and reeled in, figured I head back out for the 9:38 PM HI and try my luck then. Made a call to check in on my father (been sick awhile) and was hit with this:

He passed while I was on the phone with his little sister. Been a hard week but I hope to get back out to the cape before the fishing falls off.

Thanks much everyone. He was a great father and taught me much about fishing and life. Apparently I forgot the part he taught me about using a leader with braid... I'm going to do some fresh water bassin' with family today and try to de-stress. Maybe I'll catch the next canal gathering and try my luck then.
