FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM
https://www.change.org/p/st-johns-ri...-of-rodman-dam
I know that most of you are probably not -- but if you are a FLORIDA registered voter and/or real property owner, please consider signing this petition to restore to free-flowing again
"Source to the Sea" the 56-mile mainstream Ocklawaha River - Silver River - Silver Springs system of north-central Florida by breaching Rodman (Kirkpatrick) Dam. And please let others know who do meet these Florida qualifications.
A 56-mile, free-flowing
"Source to the Sea" -- from its Silver Springs supreme headwaters to its St. Johns River estuary -- mainstream Ocklawaha River needs your help! And what will it cost you? You can "vote" for an un-obstructed Ocklawaha River - Silver River - Silver Springs system FOR FREE! But you must sign-on to the petition for your "vote" to count.
Show your support for the free migration -- St. Johns River to Silver Springs -- of the Florida manatee, channel catfish, and Atlantic-race STRIPED BASS.
Note that the native Atlantic-race STRIPED BASS lost its only suitable spawning habitat of the entire St. Johns River basin (and the most southern in the U.S.) when Rodman (Kirkpatrick) Dam was closed across the Ocklawaha River on September 30, 1968.
Riverine LARGEMOUTH BASS have been native to the Ocklawaha River for thousands of years -- they don't require Rodman Dam or Reservoir to be abundant or for their survival!
Most sincerely,
