I went fishing today in the Medomak River and I saw a bunch of stripers mostly schoolies. They were feeding on shad but i couldnt get one to hit any thing i could toss at it.Is this normal??
yes it's normal, they didn't like the bait you gave them....it's the same way as freshwater bass fishing, you can throw plugs all day long and not get a bite when you do finally find something they like then they'll demolish it. You just have to try to immitate whatever it is they're feeding on.
are you using a teaser/ if you take a chicken scratch bomber/teaser combination it may draw strikes as it has the appearance of a small bass chasing something (at least in overcast days when yellow is more noticeable)
